The ED-6 was designed to specifically replace 40W incandescent and 10W CFL or lower wattage bulbs. The types of fixtures these bulbs are used in have little room for poorly performing light sources such as CFLs and there has not been a viable replacement option until this high performing screw based retrofit was designed. With a fully encompassing light spread, it will light your living room, hallway, office, bedroom and commercial spaces very efficiently without the annoying color hues, buzzing and inferior light of the CFL.
